Administered by the MA Department of Energy Resources (DOER), the “Massachusetts Offers Rebates for Electric Vehicles” (MOR-EV) program provides rebates for new, used, or leased EVs. See which offers you qualify for and combine rebates to get even bigger savings.

MOR-EV Standard Rebate
$3,500 for new vehicles.
Eligibility Summary*
You are eligible if you meet the requirements below:
- Your new vehicle is on the eligible vehicle list.
- The total MSRP of that vehicle is $55,000 or less.
- You are a resident of Massachusetts (or a business based in Massachusetts).
- You retain ownership of the vehicle or lease it for at least 36 consecutive months from the vehicle purchase or lease start.
- You agree that any emissions reductions generated by the purchased vehicle will not be used as marketable emissions reduction credits.

You must apply for rebates within 90 days of your purchase or lease or receive the rebate at the point of sale by purchasing the vehicle from a MOR-EV participating dealership.

$7,500 for new light-duty class 2b trucks or pick-ups.

- Your new vehicle is on the eligible vehicle list.

- You are a Massachusetts resident (or a business based in Massachusetts).

MOR-EV Trade-In Rebate
$1,000 for trading in your gas or diesel-powered vehicle.
Vehicle Eligibility Summary*
You are eligible if you meet the MOR-EV Standard or Used Vehicle Rebate requirements in addition to the requirements below:
- The vehicle is traded-in on or after August 8, 2023 for the purchase or lease of a MOR-EV rebate eligible vehicle.
- Traded-in vehicle is up to date on inspections before the trade-in.
- Traded-in vehicle is at least 12 years old.
- Traded-in vehicle is registered in MA to the applicant or the applicant’s immediate family for at least 2 years prior to the trade-in date.
- It is traded-in at a licensed MA dealership at the time of purchase or lease of an eligible new or used vehicle.

Ride Clean Mass Rebate

Eligibility Summary*
You are eligible if you meet the MOR-EV Standard Rebate requirements in addition to the requirements below:
- You are a Transportation Network Company driver (Uber and/or Lyft)
- You have driven at least 300 trips or 1500 miles in 2 of the last 4 quarters
OR
- You are a taxi driver with a taxi medallion
- You own a taxi fleet with a taxi medallion
For your vehicle to be eligible for this rebate, it must:
- Have been purchased or rented after November 12, 2024
- Must not be leased

IRS Used Clean Vehicle Tax Credit
Up to $4,000 for used plug-in electric and fuel-cell vehicles.
Eligibility Summary*
To qualify for this tax credit, you must:
- Purchase a vehicle with sale price of $25,000 or less
- Purchase a vehicle with a model year at least two years earlier than the purchase calendar year
- Primarily use your EV in the U.S.
- Buy the vehicle for your personal or business use, not resale.
- Not be claimed as a dependent on another person’s tax return.
- Be claiming a used vehicle credit for the first time in 3 years.
- Have a modified gross income (AGI) not exceeding:
- $150,000 for married couples filing jointly or surviving spouses
- $112,500 for heads of households
- $75,000 for other filers

To qualify for a rebate, you must:
- Have five or more units for multi-unit dwellings, or have at least 15 students for educational campuses.

National Grid EV Charging Upgrade Program
Up to $2,000
for upgrading your home wiring to support EV charging.
Eligibility Summary*
To qualify, you must:
- Live in a single-family home or building with two to four units.
- Have your own National Grid electric account.
- Own or lease a plug-in hybrid or electric vehicle.
- Be enrolled in the Off-Peak Charging Program if you are in a single-family home.
- Have made wiring upgrades and charging station purchases after December 30, 2022.

Eversource Charging Rebates
Between $700 to $2,700
for wiring upgrades in single-family homes or multi-unit buildings up to four units. Rebates are also available for large buildings, but they are classified as business rebates.

Eversource Managed Charging Program
$10 monthly reward | $120 annually
$50 enrollement incentive
Must have qualifying Level 2 Smart Charger OR by using smart capabilities that are built into the onboard computer of some electric vehicle models.
Baseline Tier (Off‑Peak Charging):
- To earn the $10 monthly reward, you must complete one 15‑minute home charging session each month, with more than 90% of that session taking place during off‑peak hours. Meeting this requirement gives you an annual earning potential of $120.
Advanced Tier (Scheduled Charging):
- To earn the $10 monthly reward, you need to set a charging schedule, complete two 15‑minute charging sessions each month, and keep schedule overrides to no more than two. Successfully following these steps gives you an annual earning potential of $120.

Unitil Ready2Charge Rebate Program
Between $700 and $1,700
All Unitil residential customers can get up to $700** for installation costs for a Level 2 charger, including related electric system upgrades. Income-qualified customers who are on the R2 Fuel Assistance electric rate can get up to $1,700** for installation costs and the cost of the EV charger.
Eligibility Summary*
To qualify, you must:
- Be a residential Unitil Massachusetts electric customer.
- Live in a single-family home or two- to four-unit building.
- Agree to sign up for the EV Time-of-Use rate.
- Qualifying residents now have an option to either (1) wire EV charger to an existing electric panel (or sub-panel) or (2) install a new meter socket solely for the EV charger.
